After working relentless hours with a tireless commute in the marketing and public relations sector, an eye opening backpacking trip through India and Nepal was the turning point for Talisha to pursue her passion for health and well-being.
Now as a specialist oncology dietitian at the Calvary Mater Newcastle, Talisha works closely with patients undergoing radiation and/or chemotherapy, primarily with cancers of the head and neck, oesophagus, pancreas and bowel. She also helps to facilitate a monthly head and neck cancer support group, and presents yearly to breast cancer survivors about nutrition and diet.
Combined with her oncology experience, Talisha also brings her expertise in the private practice setting, having worked in the areas of diabetes, heart disease, allergies and intolerances, coeliac disease and weight management.
Since its founding in 2015, Talisha has played a pivotal role in the development of Enliven Nutrition as a leader in the community for the delivery of nutrition services. Talisha offers private consultations specialising in oncology as well as women’s health, including gut health, PCOS, hormonal imbalances and weight management.
Talisha is a positive and friendly Accredited Practising Dietitian with a passion for health and nutrition, and is dedicated to helping people achieve their health goals.
When not working in her outpatient role or in clinic, you will find Talisha in the kitchen whipping up a healthy dish with the Managing Director Jason, outdoors on her favourite walking paths, or enjoying a cuppa on their deck in the sun.
Talisha graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) and Class I Honours from the University of Newcastle.
